More Winter Magic at Legoland Germany

Update 07.11.2024, by Claus Bünnagel

Open in winter from 23.11.2024 to 6.1.2024 – with additional rides, new laser shows, curling and show highlights.

After the success of last year's premiere, the gates of Legoland Deutschland Resort will open for an expanded "WinterWonder Legoland" from November 23. Visitors can look forward to additional new attractions at the Bavarian family amusement park in Günzburg. These include a spectacular laser show in the "Land of the Pharaohs" and curling in Lego City. They complement popular highlights such as the ice-skating rink and selected indoor and outdoor attractions. In the atmospherically decorated Miniland, the new "Almhütte" with a Lego winter exhibition including polar bears and the research ship "Polarstern" awaits visitors. Meanwhile, in the "Imagination" area, Santa Claus is awaiting visitors, and changing artists plan to entertain the WinterWonder guests in the Monkey Theatre.

10 m high Lego Duplo Christmas tree

A highlight again this year is the 10 m high Lego Duplo Christmas tree made of 364,481 Duplo bricks, sparkling in festive glory during the daily "Lighting the Tree" at 4:30 pm. As darkness falls, the Legoland Deutschland Resort turns into a sparkling winter fairy tale as thousands of festively decorated Christmas trees and lights immerse the park in warm light. Tempting scents of punch, mulled wine, and roasted almonds waft from the winter village, while children marvel at the winter parade with Santa Claus and his sleigh. The day concludes with the spectacular music-accompanied laser show in Miniland.

New Winter Show

In the new winter show "Olli and the Big Winter Surprise", park dragon Olli fulfills a long-awaited dream. He wins a trip in a prize draw. Accompanying him are all his friends, the Bricks, and Christmas elves.

This year, more attractions are open than at the premiere. The "Desert X-cursion" takes little adventurers to new heights. They float over the Land of the Pharaohs in colorful balloons and experience exciting adventures. At the "Kids Power Tower", strength and skill are required, and the "Safari Tour" takes a thrilling discovery journey through the wintry Lego jungle. Also on the tour is the festively illuminated Legoland Express, making its rounds through the park.

Legoland Germany: "Monster Party" for Halloween

Update 25.09.2024, by Claus Bünnagel

From 5.10. to 2.11., the Günzburg family amusement park attracts with "Monster Villa", pumpkin field building action, and "spooky" attractions.

The monsters are loose again. And for the 2024 "Monster Party" at Legoland Deutschland Resort, they have brought along spookily beautiful new features. Starting October 5, the park's gates will open for a big and fun spooky party. New this year is the "Monster Villa" in Miniland, the heart of the park. For four weeks, adventurous visitors can explore the new attraction with the mad professor's lab, witch's kitchen, and vampire crypt.

Extended Saturday opening hours until 8 pm, Germany's largest Lego pumpkin field, live music from the villa roof, and the spooky street with thousands of pumpkins and friendly spooky figures make the visit an unforgettable experience. On November 2, the sky will light up in colorful hues when the traditional Halloween closing fireworks are expected to create sparkling eyes in young and old alike.

Vampires and Witches Sneak Through the Dark Corridors of the Villa

At the center of this year's Halloween season at Legoland Deutschland Resort is the brand new Monster Villa. Courageous visitors explore the mad professor’s lab, the bubbling pots in the witch's kitchen, and the dark vampire crypt. On weekends, the experience is intensified when Halloween residents like vampires and witches sneak through the dark corridors of the villa. New to the spooky team is the cheeky scarecrow. As a new Legoland resident, she can't miss the Monster Party. Guests can meet her at the photo point in "Imagination", during her rounds through the park, or (unexpectedly) in front of the Monster Villa. Right next door, Germany's largest Lego pumpkin field is growing. In the park’s Lego Creative Center, Rebuild the World, visitors build Lego pumpkins according to instructions or freely. These are then "planted" in Miniland by moonlight. Thus, night after night, an ever-growing pumpkin field made of Lego bricks emerges.

Halloween Classics and Spectacular Witch Party

In addition to the new attractions, Halloween classics can also be found in the park. If visitors follow the spooky street and the signs "To the Monster Party", they will find themselves, past fine cobwebs and thousands of real pumpkins, right in the scare hub in the "Land of Knights". There, laughing witches concoct their blood-red witch's brew, and the roller coaster "Fire Dragon" has been transformed into the "Disco Dragon" with disco lights and spooky music. In the heart of the park, Miniland, witch Pimpinella invites guests to her very own witch party during the extended Saturday spooks. "The Children's Band" provides peppy music from the roof of the Monster Villa. As always, those who prefer roller coasters and the like without spooky action can enjoy the park as usual away from the spooky street.

Great Photo Fun, Film Adventures, and Monster Hunt

Along the spooky street, life-size Lego monsters like Frankenstein or the mysterious mummy ensure the extra spook factor. Only a broom flight away, brave budding monsters knock on Pimpinella's witch house in the spookily decorated entrance area for trick or treat. And for those who still haven't seen enough monsters, there's the 4D film fun "Monsters, on the Loose!" in the Lego Studios.

Event Details Halloween "Monster Party"

  • Legoland "Monster Party", 5.10.-2.11. every day from 10 am to 6 pm
  • Halloween Saturdays: 5.10., 12.10., 19.10., 26.10., and 2.11. with extended opening hours until 8 pm, live spooks, and music in Miniland
  • Pumpkin Painting: Design your own pumpkins and take them home on 31.10.
  • Halloween Finale: Big closing fireworks on 2.11. at 8 pm over Miniland

Legoland Surprises Summer Guests: Christmas in August

Update 26.08.2024, by Claus Bünnagel

In the Legoland Deutschland Resort, there is an exuberant summer mood. Families engage in water battles in the Land of Pirates, lick ice cream – and meet Santa Claus. Sounds funny? In Legoland, however, everything is different...

Park dragon Olli apparently got the month wrong. For him, it's Christmas on the 24th, and so the mascot of the Bavarian family amusement park already provided a winter surprise in August. With elves, the Lego Santa, and a toy soldier, he handed out presents to the astonished Legoland summer guests, giving them a foretaste of the upcoming WinterWonder Legoland.

After the great success last year, the resort's gates will open for the winter spectacle for the second time.

WinterWonder Legoland opens from November 23

While Olli is already humming Christmas carols, visitors have to wait a little longer. The gates to the second WinterWonder Legoland will only open from November 23. Until January 6, park guests can experience a festive atmosphere with
hundreds of decorated Christmas trees, including a ten-meter-high Lego Duplo tree made of 365,000 pieces.

A special highlight is the Legoland Winter Parade, which moves through the snowy park. Past the winter Miniland, the ice skating rink, and the winter village. This makes the visit an unforgettable experience for young and old.

Winter Atmosphere in Legoland

The thrill of the rides is not neglected: Guests can start the winter at full speed in selected indoor and outdoor attractions. Those who prefer a slower pace can be enchanted by the unforgettable winter shows or enjoy the view over wintry Legoland from the observation tower. And when the sun sets, the family amusement park becomes even more dreamlike. A spectacular laser show turns the sky over the Lego cities in Miniland into a sparkling sea of lights.

The WinterWonder at Legoland Deutschland Resort is open from Saturday, November 23, 2024, to Monday, January 6, 2025, on weekends and during the Christmas holidays. As of now, undated day tickets are available in the early bird offer for 19 euros.

All details and bookings for WinterWonder Legoland are now available online at: www.legoland.de/WinterWonder

"Ninjas Unite" - May in Legoland

Update 29.04.2024, by Franziska Neuner

Under the motto "Ninjas Unite", the entire month of May at the Legoland Deutschland Resort is dedicated to the Lego Ninjago month, making it a center for small and big ninja fans.

From May 1 to June 2, 2024, everything at the family amusement park in Bavarian Günzburg revolves around the Lego Ninjago heroes Nya, Lloyd, Kai, Sora, Arin & Co! Fans train their ninja skills, show their prowess in cool courses and creative Lego-building activities, and immerse themselves in interactive shows in the action-packed world of their favorite heroes!

Everything in Motion: Interactive Ninja Training at Many Stations

Throughout the park, Legoland guests experience the hero world of Lego Ninjago up close at numerous participation stations. It starts at the entrance area: In Lloyd's Parkour with exciting action elements, junior ninjas can train their dexterity and reaction abilities. At Soras Laser Maze in Lego X-Treme, agility and swift action are required to overcome the tricky net of light beams in the blacklight room. Sportiness and endurance are needed at Arin's endless climbing wall for little climbing ninjas. "In Stillness Lies Power" is the motto in Ninjago World. Here, it’s all about: Who can master Nya's hot XXL wire without triggering an alarm?

Creative Talents and Dragon Energy

Besides movement talent, the creative vein of park guests is also in demand: In the Rebuild-the-World participation area, little construction artists can build their own Lego Ninjago dragons and thereby strengthen their connection to the dragons. On weekends, there is also the opportunity to help design the large Lego Ninjago mosaic for the current TV series "Ninjago – Rise of the Dragons".

Up Close with the Ninjago Favorites

In the first half of May, guests are greeted by a piece of art at the entrance area: Just like a real ninja, a 3D artist creates a giant piece of street art, creating an illusion of Ninjago before the eyes of park visitors.

A hallmark of the amusement park is the massive Legoland Parade, which takes place on the Saturdays of the Ninjago month in full Ninjago style with dragon power. Everyone who wants a personal souvenir photo with the ninja favorite heroes at the photo point near the Lego Studios will daily find out exactly where in the park Nya, Lloyd & Co can be found.

Ninjago Shows to Participate

The Miniland stage is dedicated to Asian arts during Ninjago Month: Four different shows run all day long, starting with the Taiko drum show "The Dragon’s Drumbeat" with the rhythms of traditional Japanese drum art. Right in the thick of it are Ninjago fans during the interactive ninja school "School of Spinjitzu" and the Ninja Mini-disco "Whip Around Dance Party" – with lots of fun, cool ninja poses, and dance moves.

The daily stage spectacle culminates with the grand Ninjago show "Ninjas Unite", where you experience the power of the elements together with the Ninjago heroes in a ceremony.

The exact program points and show times for the entire Ninjago month are available at Legoland.de/events or in the Legoland Germany App (free in the Apple Appstore and Google Play): This allows guests to plan all the highlights of their park visit in advance.

After opening the Lego Mythica theme area in 2023, Legoland Germany in Günzburg expands its holiday village with the Forest Adventure Lodge, an accommodation area including the "Hungry Bear" restaurant offering Bavarian-Alpine cuisine. The lodge features 80 four-bed rooms and a large outdoor area with new playgrounds and play equipment with numerous Lego figures to discover. Sustainability was a focus during the construction of the lodges: Over 1,000 photovoltaic modules with a total output of 458 kWp are installed on the roofs of the lodges and the restaurant. They are sufficient to supply all 80 rooms with electricity and heat.

Parkour, Space Training, and Aliens

In addition, there is a parkour course in the entrance area of the amusement park, and young astronauts practice in the Lego-X-Treme area for space training. A common Lego artwork is built daily in Rebuild the World, and in the Lego Studios, the aliens are loose – visible in the new "Lego Friends 4D Movie – Alien Invasion".

World First in Günzburg: Lego Playgrounds in Peppa Pig Park

Update 05.02.2024, by Claus Bünnagel

When the Peppa Pig Park opens from Pentecost 2024, visitors can anticipate exciting adventures.

The playful world of Peppa Pig and the creativity of Lego Duplo will soon come together in the Peppa Pig Park in Günzburg. In the Lego Duplo Peppa Pig Playzone, visitors – including kindergarten groups – can immerse themselves in the beloved TV pig's world from Pentecost 2024. Starting in mid-May, it’s time to explore Peppa’s treehouse, sail on Grandpa Kläff's pirate boat, and hop over the mud puddle playground. Already at the entrance, Peppa and her friend Luzie invite little guests to a memorable photo.

Building Area as the Heart

The heart of the playzone is the building area. At two large building tables, six Lego Duplo-built Peppa Pig scenes from the beloved TV series can be admired. In Peppa's house, a birthday party is being celebrated, Mama Wutz goes shopping, and Grandpa Wutz has built a treehouse for Peppa. The second building table takes visitors on imaginative outings. Peppa is camping in the woods, building a snowman with Schorsch in the mountains, and vacationing at the sea.

Legoland Germany: First Winter Opening

Update 22.11.2023, by Claus Bünnagel

Starting November 24, the family amusement park kicks off its first winter opening with roller coaster action and a select program.

Three eventful weeks are behind the Legoland Germany team: pumpkins and funny spooky figures had to make way to accommodate fairy lights, over a thousand Christmas trees, and a 10 m high Lego Duplo Christmas tree. The amusement park in Bavarian Günzburg has transformed into a winter wonderland. On November 24, the resort opens its gates, presenting WinterWonder Legoland for the first time. Visitors can look forward to a winter village, ice-skating rink, wintry Miniland, and roller coaster action. Shows and events await guests, too: music acts and laser show, winter parade, and Christmas show in the Lego Studios aim to enchant, just like the novelty "Lighting the Tree". Even the castles in the adjacent Legoland holiday village present themselves in winter-themed attire.

All that's missing is snow. The decor sparkles, the Lego Duplo tree impresses with a golden star at 10 m height, shows and highlights are rehearsed. (Martin Lubitzsch, Director of Retail, Event, and Entertainment)

Throughout the day, visitors can discover the many details in the Christmas tree decoration, but the highlight "Lighting the Tree" follows spectacularly from about 4 pm in the evening hours.

Winter Parade and Santa Claus Himself

The lovingly themed wagons for the daily parade have been updated and now await visitors in their winter costumes. The park's model builders have devised beautiful Lego decorations once again, and park mascot Olli and his friends will be wrapped up warmly in the winter temperatures. Two new "Lego Heroes" are also featured: The Lego Toy Soldier and Santa will not miss this colorful spectacle at 5 pm. In addition, exclusive appointments to meet Santa are bookable through the Legoland website.

Dance, Sing, and Spin – a Colorful Winter Program

Furthermore, Legoland makes the wintry Lego cities in Miniland sparkle with a laser show at 6 and 7:30 pm. Nearby, the new ice surface twinkles and glitters, allowing guests to skate across the harbor tour. The family amusement park has also thought of something for relaxation afterward: In the Lego Studios, guests can enjoy a winter show with park dragon Olli, the Lego Bricks, and winter elves. The winter program is rounded off with a children's disco at the stage in the "Land of Pharaohs" at 2:30 pm and changing music acts at 6:30 pm.

2024: Forest Adventure Lodge Opens at Legoland Germany

Update 10/12/2023, by Claus Bünnagel

The new overnight area offers a sustainable stay at the start of the 2024 season.

At the start of the season in March 2024, Legoland Germany in Bavaria's Günzburg is expanding its overnight offer in the holiday village with the Forest Adventure Lodge. The three buildings and the restaurant will be supplied with green electricity by a photovoltaic system with 430 kWp on the roofs. The Forest Adventure Lodge and the other themed accommodations in the holiday village can be booked immediately.

With the Forest Adventure Lodge, we offer our guests a completely new theme that they have not yet experienced in our resort. Legoland Germany: First Winter Opening

Update 8/26/2023, by Claus Bünnagel

From November 24 to early January, the park resort's gates will be open on weekends from Friday to Sunday. During the Christmas holidays from December 22 to January 7, the park can be visited daily.

Children's eyes will shine when the huge Christmas tree glows brightly and the parade festively moves through the park. For the first time in 2023, the Legoland Germany Resort in Bavaria's Günzburg will open its doors in winter. From November 24 to early January, guests will experience magical flair, unique roller coaster rides in the winter landscape, and new winter attractions on selected days.

Christmas Tree Made from 364,481 Lego Duplo Bricks

Around a thousand decorated Christmas trees, festive Lego decorations, and photo points: Visitors will experience a true WinterWonder-Legoland upon entering the amusement park. The highlight is the brightly colored, 10 m high Christmas tree in the entrance area, consisting of 364,481 Lego Duplo bricks. Fun is not in short supply: visitors experience winter action in all indoor attractions and selected rides outdoors. A unique sight is the winter, perhaps snow-covered Miniland. With the Legoland Express shining in the light, visitors can make their rounds through the festively decorated park.

Visit with Santa Claus

Of course, Santa Claus should not be missing in WinterWonder-Legoland: Guests can either wave to him during the parade or book an appointment in advance to visit him in his house in Miniland. And what would winter be without a gleaming ice rink? Professionals can spin their pirouettes there, and beginners can work on their choreography with aids.

In addition, fantastic artists will transport guests from the stressful everyday life to a fantastic winter wonderland for young and old alike with fairytale shows. Whether on ice or on the large stage—the winter shows sweeten the advent season and bring park visitors into a festive mood for the new year.

For overnight stays in the nearby holiday village, festively decorated castles and lovingly themed rooms are available, where little elves and fairies dream of Christkind, Santa, and Co. before the winter fairy tale continues the next day in the park.

Preparations in Full Swing

A dedicated Winter Project Team has been working intensively for months to make the first Legoland winter opening a unique experience. After the regular season ends with spooky Halloween weeks on November 5, the doors to the festively decorated WinterWonder-Legoland will open on November 24. From then, the theme park resort will be open on weekends from Friday to Sunday. During the Christmas holidays from December 22 to January 7, the park can be visited daily (exceptions: December 24, 25, and 31, and January 1).

Peppa Pig Park Opens 2024 in Bavarian Günzburg

Update 7/02/2023, by Claus Bünnagel

Right in time for the 20th anniversary of the Peppa Pig brand, a new theme park opens in 2024 next to Legoland Germany.

The iconic pig Peppa Pig from one of the most-watched children's shows of all time will have its standalone theme park right next to the Legoland Germany Resort in 2024. Alongside the already successful Peppa Pig Theme ParkTM in Florida, the first standalone Peppa Pig Park in the EU will open in Bavarian Günzburg just in time for the 20th anniversary of the Peppa Pig brand. A colorful mix of attractions is planned, offering a theme park experience for preschoolers.

First Theme Park Experience for Preschoolers

For the first time in Europe, families can discover the colorful world of Peppa Pig in a standalone theme park. The Peppa Pig Park will open its first season in 2024 with various rides, water fun, interactive activities, and shows. The theming is based on the instantly recognizable locations from the globally popular Peppa Pig TV series. This encourages children to explore the world around them, which will also be a theme throughout the park.

Analogous to the Peppa children's series, the park is designed and tailored to the needs and abilities of preschool children. With its opening, the Peppa Pig Park offers the youngest family members their own rides and the opportunity to gradually conquer the world of theme parks. (Legoland Germany Managing Director Manuela Stone)

Through the licensing agreement with Hasbro, Merlin Entertainments, the parent company of Legoland Parks, is expanding its range of attractions and themes further. In addition to Germany, the opening of a Peppa Pig Park is also planned in the USA—in Dallas/Fort Worth—for 2024.

Lego Mythica Opens

Update 3/31/2023, by Claus Bünnagel

The 1.2-ha area is the largest park expansion since the opening of Legoland Germany in 2002.

Legoland Germany has opened the new Lego Mythica themed area. The 1.2-ha area is the largest park expansion since its opening in 2002. This brings the theme park in Bavaria's Günzburg to eleven themed areas. The Mythica highlight is the Wing Coaster Maximus, on which passengers experience spectacular overhead rides. Equally impressive: a giant sky lion built from over 700,000 Lego bricks, weighing about 3 tons, and standing 5 m high at the roller coaster station. A total of 1.5 million small colorful bricks are used in Lego Mythica, some of which can be brought to life through augmented reality and the Legoland App.

Creative Center

Fun building is not neglected in the new themed area: In the Creative Center Mythica CreaZone, visitors can build fantastic mythical creatures, attach them to the Lego Wall of Fame, and thus co-design part of the eleventh themed area. The small visitors can continue to play on the multi-story playground LavaLand, climbing up and sliding down through a tube or on broader levels.

Winter Opening

For the first time, the resort can also be experienced in winter 2023/24. Both areas in the park and parts of the holiday village will be open during the contemplative season. The start of the winter wonderland is November 24, 2023.

Four New Attractions at Legoland Germany

Update 1/19/2023, by Claus Bünnagel

With Lego Mythica, the eleventh themed area of the theme park in Bavaria's Günzburg opens its doors at the start of the season on March 25.

The new Lego Mythica has four special attractions to offer at Legoland Germany. The eleventh themed area of the theme park in Bavaria's Günzburg awaits visitors at the start of the season on March 25, including the world's first Legoland Wing Coaster. On "Maximus – The Flight of the Guardian," guests sit on the coaster both right and left of the roller coaster tracks, their legs freely hanging. The highest point of the roller coaster, which leads around the entire area of Lego Mythica, is 17 m above the ground. On the ride with peak speeds of 15 m/sec., with forces of 2.2 g involved, curves like the inward-tilting spiral "Helix" or the overhead element "Corkscrew" provide a thrill in the stomach.

Freefall Tower

The new themed area offers even more fun rides. The "Fire & Ice Tower" can be seen from afar, reaching 13 m in height. Even from a body height of 1 m, it goes 9 m high. As visitors rotate around the towers, there are repeated phases of free fall.

Creative

On 1.2 ha, a fantasy world made of 1.5 million Lego bricks was created in Lego Mythica for over 15 million euros. In the largest expansion in Legoland Germany Resort to date, small and large guests can admire 14 new Lego models. These include, for example, a dog with peacock feathers, a leopard owl, and a flower rhinoceros.

Little and big inventors can also create imaginative creatures or other fabulous things in the Lego Creative Center "Mythica CreaZone." Then, they can let off steam at "LavaLand," a playground in the middle of the new themed area in the shape of a giant lava dragon.

Mythical Summer Nights

The Legoland Parade, first held in the anniversary year 2022, with popular Lego characters, will continue to make its way through the family paradise on selected days. The Ninjago weekend on June 17/18 promises pure action. The "Long Nights" follow on July 29, August 5, and 12. In July, August, and September, there is also a mysterious summer show. It gets spooky at the Monster Party for the Halloween Weeks starting September 30 with long Saturday spook and eerily beautiful actions until November 5.

Innovation: Winter Opening at Legoland Germany

For the first time ever, Legoland Germany will open the park and the holiday village in winter from November 24. Both selected attractions in the park and a hotel in the holiday village will then warm hearts in the cold season with winter fun, lights, Christmas trees, and winter decorations.

New Theme Area from 2023: Lego Mythica

Update 9/15/2022, by Claus Bünnagel

The 1.2 ha area is the biggest and most expensive expansion of Legoland Germany to date and will include a new roller coaster.

At the start of the 2023 season, a new theme area opens at Legoland Germany. The 1.2 ha Lego Mythica is the largest and most expensive expansion of the Günzburg park to date and will feature a new roller coaster. Currently, construction is in full swing between the "Land of the Pharaohs" and the King's Castle of the Legoland Holiday Village.

Thrill for Kids and Teens

The spectacular roller coaster, which is not found in any other Legoland park worldwide, frames the entire themed area. With a short upside-down ride, it will also provide thrills for teens and adults but is already approved for children from primary school age and a height of 1.20 m.

With Lego Mythica, a completely new theme world enters our park. The other ten areas are more oriented towards classic themes such as pirates, knights, adventurers, or Lego City. Now we can offer our guests a theme area that stimulates creativity and imagination, where there are no prescribed rules and norms. Mythica symbolically represents a world where the creatures created in home children's rooms come to life. Some of these fantasy animals also find their place in the new Legoland theme area as breathtaking, life-sized Lego models. Here, flying lions, one-eyed trolls, dogs with peacock feathers, colorful unicorns, and many more will live. (Managing Director Manuela Stone)

Experience Lego Mythica Now

If you'd like to get a preview of the new theme area during the current anniversary season, you can dive into the fantasy world in the Lego Studios with the 4D film adventure Lego Mythica. And in Miniland, the miniature worlds made of Lego bricks, various characters from the mythical world are hiding. Tickets and accommodation packages for the 2023 season are expected to be available from fall 2022.

World's First Legoland Parade

Update 5/14/2022, by Claus Bünnagel

The Bavarian family amusement park unveils the secret of the novelty for Legoland's 20th birthday.

The best-kept secret in Legoland Germany is about to be revealed: What will the world's first Legoland Parade look like? As part of the birthday celebrations, the curtain will rise for the grand premiere on Saturday, May 21. From park opening at 10 a.m., the wagons will be presented every half hour in the corresponding themed areas before the starting shot for the world's first Legoland Parade through the park in Bavaria's Günzburg is fired at 4 p.m. Many other actions are also planned during the birthday month of May and the anniversary season.

For the big reveal, we naturally came up with something special! The wagons will be hidden under a special, meter-high curtain until it's dropped at the push of a button. (Event and Entertainment Director Martin Lubitzsch)

Parade Premiere with New Children's Heroes

Marc Dumitru, an actor and host of a popular children's TV channel, will charmingly guide the program and introduce new Legoland family members at each station. Since the park's opening, the mascots like Dragon Olli and the life-sized Lego minifigures have been very popular; therefore, the family gets new members in time for the anniversary. Twelve new children's favorites move into the park.

A Legoland song was composed specifically for the world's first Legoland Parade. Visitors can look forward to a coordinated Legoland dance matching this catchy tune, which can be danced by young and old during the parade.

A lot of work and teamwork went into preparing for the anniversary season and especially for the Legoland Parade. We can't wait to finally show everything to our guests. (Managing Director Manuela Stone)

Further Actions and Events in the Birthday Season

Beyond the birthday month of May, Legoland Germany celebrates the anniversary all season long: At the multimedia pirate show in the Lego Arena, pirate captains will showcase their skills with swordplay and acrobatics in July and August. Additionally, teeterboard artists and fire breathers offer a breathtaking show. Popular classics also remain: The park invites guests to long, sparkling summer nights on July 30, August 6, and 13 and presents itself in its most beautiful light colors on warm summer evenings.

October will be spooky with long Saturday scary nights, eerie beautiful decorations, and a new 4D Halloween film in the Lego Studios. On November 6, a glowing season finale will crown a colorful birthday season.

Fun Around the Clock

All the partying makes one tired, but the fun and adventure don't end after the park visit – it continues in the adjacent Legoland Holiday Village. New from Pentecost: the Ninjago Quarter with lovingly themed rooms in an Asian style. With the opening on June 4, the Ninjago heroes are on the loose here and invite adventures with Lloyd, Kai, Nya, and the whole family.

Earthworks in Full Swing

The earthworks between the existing "Land of the Pharaohs" and the adjacent Feriendorf's King's Castle have already begun early in the year. Investment Sum: Nearly 30 Million Euros in Two Years

Just a few months ago, it was announced that significant investments in the resort would be made for this year's anniversary season: For the Ninjago Quarter, which will open at Pentecost in the adjacent holiday village, and the energy-efficient renovation of 36 themed houses, the British parent company is providing over 14 million euros.

It is a huge vote of confidence from Merlin Entertainments that we can now invest nearly 30 million euros in our resort within just two years. The whole team is thrilled about this positive signal for our location! (Legoland Germany Managing Director Manuela Stone)

We already look forward to the big moment when the first parade wagon rounds the corner and children's eyes begin to shine.

With twelve new, beloved mascots, there will be over 20 Lego favorites in the park, among others, for souvenir photos.

Spectacular Acrobatics and Sparkling Nights in the Legoland Summer

July and August will be all about a spectacular multimedia pirate show: In the Lego Arena, the world's most famous pirate captains compete against each other—in a competition that will captivate young and old alike: Swordfighters, teeterboard artists, and a fire-breathing woman are just a small selection from the action-packed program.

Spooky Fun at Legoland

Update 9/28/2020, by Claus Bünnagel

For the first time, Halloween will be celebrated for four weeks at Legoland Germany Resort.

From October 3 to October 31, everything at the Bavarian family amusement park Legoland Germany Resort near Günzburg is all about goosebumps: For the first time, witches, ghosts, and vampires will be up to mischief in the ten themed areas for a whole month, decorated with thousands of pumpkins and corn stalks. Another novelty is the Halloween Nights. On all five October Saturdays, the Legoland Germany Resort remains open longer, allowing visitors to enjoy the spooky atmosphere in the park well into the evening. With eerily beautiful light projections and a charmingly spooky stage program, the park will highlight the darkness. Scare expert Tobi and Magician European Champion Florian Zimmer will leave the audience in awe.

Children love the delightfully spooky moments of Halloween, and that's exactly what we want to offer visitors. This year, we're celebrating Halloween throughout October and even particularly long on weekends. With extended opening hours, light shows in Miniland and other themed areas, as well as an exciting entertainment program, we will create a unique atmosphere in the park for our guests. (Managing Director Manuela Stone)

Elaborate Hygiene Concept

Visitors can enjoy their stay at the amusement park with peace of mind, assures the Legoland boss. Throughout the park area, safety remains a top priority even during the Halloween Weeks. An elaborate hygiene concept ensures that guests can experience exciting attractions and marvel at magnificent Lego structures, combined with a dose of spooky fun.

Ghost Capital in the "Land of Knights"

The medieval-looking "Land of Knights" is the ideal setting for delightfully spooky scary moments and invites fun activities between the witch's house and pumpkin ghosts. The large knight's castle is the perfect place to spook with ghostly figures. Those who dare to walk through the dark castle corridors will be rewarded with a wild roller coaster ride on the back of the fire dragon. Little ghost hunters can enjoy a fun treasure hunt across the park: Those who discover the orange gift made of Lego bricks along the footpaths can exchange it for Lego products.

Spook-Free Overnight Stay Amongst Lego Bricks

At night, fans of spooky fun are not only safe from ghosts, but they can also be watched over by brave Lego heroes while they sleep. In the expansive Legoland Holiday Village right next to the park, cheerfully colorful themed houses, magnificent castles, and a pirate's quarter offer adventurous overnight stays in Lego style. Bowling alleys, a high ropes course, pirate mini-golf, and numerous playgrounds provide action even after the park has closed.

Legoland Starts the Season on May 30

Update 5/27/2020, by Martina Whey

Due to Corona, the Legoland Resort Germany in Günzburg can open its doors for visitors at the end of May, two months later than planned.

The basis for starting the season on May 30 is a clear set of measures that guarantee the required hygiene and protection regulations and were developed by the theme park team in coordination with local authorities over the past few weeks.

An advantage for implementation—the park area with its ten adventure worlds on an area of 16 hectares is laid out very spaciously.

Important protective measures that are now being implemented throughout the Legoland Resort:

  • In the initial phase, visitor capacity will be limited to 25 percent of the actual capacity.
  • Visits are only possible with a pre-booking for a specific day (also for annual pass holders, holders of undated tickets, or children under 3 years old).
  • No ticket sales on-site, new specific day tickets can be booked in advance online (Price: 39.50 euros).
  • Wearing masks in waiting areas, when using rides and in indoor areas (analogous to gastronomy and retail) for both guests (from 6 years old) and employees
  • Changed procedures at attractions to increase safety further
  • Families are asked to keep at least 1.5 meters apart
  • Withdrawal of individual attractions due to hygiene aspects
  • Cashless payments in the park as much as possible
  • Disinfection dispensers at strategic points throughout the area

In the Legoland Holiday Village, capacities will also be significantly reduced, cut down to around 30 percent of the possible capacity. Furthermore, the campground must remain closed until further notice, as sanitary facilities on campgrounds may not be open again due to the Bavarian State Government's regulations for hygiene reasons.

Annual pass holders have one-time access to the park on a day of their choosing until June 14. From June 15 to July 31, they can visit the park on three pre-reserved days. Previous registration is absolutely necessary.

Learning Through Play

Update 5/12/2006, by Red. Allg.

Offers for School Groups at Legoland Germany

The Legoland Germany amusement park offers educational programs for school classes where students can experience phenomena such as magnetism, gravity, electricity, and speed by themselves and through numerous experiments. The place for these experiences and experiments is the Galileo Knowledge Worlds. These consist of ten learning stations integrated into the park's overall concept. At each learning station, large signs with impulse questions invite guests to try out an attraction. At the learning station "Spinner," for example, students first ride the "Wave Surfer" attraction and experience the effects of centrifugal forces. Then they can experiment with spinners and work on identifying where centrifugal forces occur in everyday situations. The topics are suitable for students in grades 3 and 4, as well as grades 5 and 6 (seven to 14 years). The park offers a package deal for school groups, where the day ticket costs 7.50 euros.
